Some general information on designing your darts.

If you are using 9/32"or 5/16" diameter, you will have a taper at the back of the dart. This is so the shaft will fit properly.
This can be a long or short taper; the longer will take more weight off the total dart.
The length will also determine the weight of your dart.

To design your Darts.

1. Decide on what weight you want first. That will determine the diameter of the dart.

2. Pick the type of shape you want for the nose.

3. Choose type of grooves, or knurling on the main part of the body.

This can be a combination of the different types.
Remember knurling on a straight surface only.

With the larger diameters do you want a long taper at the back of the dart.
And the location of any elements, ie the distance from nose to the first groove and spaces between sets of grooves etc. View sample above.
